Centre for Processed Foods are one of the pioneers in organising highely interactive techno commercial seminars, conferences, workshops and expositions in the area of food science and technology. All the events organised by CPF were well received and highely appreciated.

- 21.04.95 Workshop on Fruit and Vegetable Packaging facility (FVP) at Horticultural Producers Cooperative Marketing Society (HOPCOMS), 22 Participants attended the workshop.
- 25.05.95 Workshop on Product Development Laboratory (PDL) for Horticulture from all over country, 22 Participants have attended the workshop.

- Mini workshops on Freeze Drying: on 9th May 1996 at the CSIC Complex. An expert made a short presentation from M/s Atlas Copco who is one of the world leaders in freeze-drying equipment. 25 members representing industries, academic institution, consultants and experts attended this.
- Food Pack 1996 – Two day national seminar on “Recent Trends in Food Packaging and Packaging Expo” On 5th & 6th September 1996 in the National Science Seminar complex, Bangalore. The seminar was attended by 146 delegates from all over the country and consisted of representatives from a wide spectrum of Organizations.
- Workshop on Database Generation in food Technology: on 14th February 1997 at the National Science Seminar Complex, Bangalore. CPF has a MoU with Computer Maintenance Corporation for providing assistance in creation of database in food technology, vide item F below. The workshop was organized for experts and resource personnel who were involved or interested in contributing to the database generation work taken up by CPF. 39 members attended the workshop.
- All preliminary works was completed for holding an international seminar on HACCP in April 1997 with experts obtained through CAFT under the MOU between CTD and CAFT, which has been renewed for further period of one year from 01.11.1997.
- International Seminar on Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) held at Hotel Ashok, Bangalore held on 5th–6th April 1997: Two experts faculty members from CAFT, USA participated in the seminar. 94 delegates participated in the seminar representing industries, academia, research institutes, financial institutions, consultants and other. The seminar was highly interactive and in general the delegates expressed their appreciation for organization such a useful seminar.
- Conference on New Technologies in Food Processing at Hotel Cidade, Goa held in association with International Life Science Institute, Delhi on 2 – 3rd of December 1997. 75 participants representing industries, academia, research institutes, financial institutions, and consultants attended this. The delegates appreciated the usefulness of the seminar in making them aware about the new technologies in food processing sector and creating interaction with R&D industrial representatives etc.,
- National Seminar on Preservation, Processing and Storage of Fruits and Vegetables held at IIHR, Bangalore on 6th December 1997. The seminar was organized in co ordination with Indian Institute of Horticulture Research, Bangalore. 69 delegates representing industries, academia, research institutes, financial institutions, consultants and others attended this. The delegates expressed their appreciation for creating a platform for interaction between the representatives from various fields of the fruit and vegetable sector. It was the first exposure for majority of the industry representatives to the work done at IIHR and their capabilities.
- Entrepreneurship Development Programme in food processing for Women held at AWAKE, Bangalore from 9–19th December 1997. 20 women entrepreneurs/ prospective entrepreneurs attended this programme. The women entrepreneurs were motivated to start small enterprises on their own which will enable them to become self-dependent and provide employment opportunities to other women. As a follow up actions there was a meet with the participants to assess the progress and provide post-training support.
- International Seminar on Modified Atmosphere Packaging & Controlled Atmosphere Storage (MAP & CAS): Held on 27th –28th April 1998 at National Science Seminar Complex, Bangalore. Two expert faculty members from CAFT, USA participated in the seminar. 59 delegates participated in the seminar representing industries,
- Academia, research institutes, financial institutions, consultants and other. The MAP & CAS concepts have been extensively used on some of the countries. CPF’s effort was to create awareness among the concerned about this Technology, which would be very useful for the country.
- National Seminar on New Technologies, Products and Approaches useful for Export of Agriculture and Processed Food Products: was held in association with the Visvesvaraya Industrial Trade Centre on 29 – 30th April 1998 at the National Science Seminar Complex, Bangalore. Two experts’ faculty members from CAFT, USA participated on this seminar. The sectors namely fruits & vegetables, spices, meet, seafood, dairy etc., were covered during the seminar. 89 delegates participated on this seminar representing industries, academia, research institutes, financial institutions, consultants and other.
- Workshop on Value Addition and Quality Assurance for Sea Foods Exports: held on June1st 1998 at Hotel Pentagon, Mangalore. The participants included representatives from seafood processors and exports in Karnataka, College of Fisheries- Mangalore, Export Inspection Agency and MPEDA. The total number of participants was 35.
- Technology Meet on Food Processing; Centre for Technology Development (CTD) conducts a Technology Meet once in 10 years to discuss and come out with actions points on certain focused areas of importance. Such a meet was held during July or August 1998.
- Seminar during KISAN’ 98: KISAN is an agriculture trade organized once in 2 years in Bangalore by Deccan Exhibitors Pvt Ltd. One such event was organized during November ’98. CPF organized concurrent seminars during the trade fair covering dairy, fruits & vegetables, species sector and cold storage for foods. This was attended by 69 participants which included entrepreneurs, prospective entrepreneurs, progressive farmers etc.,
- Renaissance in Food Processing in the Next Millennium: A one-day event was organized on 28th January 1999 at the Taj West End, Bangalore. The event was aimed at felicitating some of the eminent individuals and institutions who played a key role in the food processing sector here from them about their experiences and future vision of the industry. The event was attended by 68 participants where nine were felicitated.
- National Seminar on Cold Chain: A two day national seminar on Cold Chain for the Food Sector including Floriculture along with Cool ’99 an exposition on cold chain was organized on 29th & 30th January 1999 at the Taj West End, Bangalore. This seminar was attended by 63 participants which includes industry, traders, farmers, Government, Financial institution, Machinery Manufactures, Financial Institutions, Consultants & Professionals, Universities & R&D institutions.
- CPF associated with M/s Enterprising Exhibition Bangalore as a supporting organization for orgazing a five day exposition namely FOOD EXPO-2001 on food processing. During the exposition held from 28th April to 2nd May 2001 several food machinery manufactures, packaging machinery manufacturers, publishers, service providers, consultants & research organization participated showcasing their machineries & service offered. There were totally 32 stalls. Hon. Minister for Agriculture Mr. Jayachandran, Goa, inaugurated the event. The event attracted many food industries, Professionals & students from South & Central States. Govt. of Karnataka, Dept. of Industries & Commerce co-sponsored the event.
- CPF organized a one-day seminar on Food Processing on 19th October 2001 during KISAN-2001 for the benefit of progressive & enterprising farmers visiting this mega event on Agriculture & Technologies on Post Harvest. About 50 farmers attended the seminar. The event attracted many food industries, professionals & students from South & Central States. Govt. of Karnataka, Dept. of Industries & Commerce co-sponsored the event.
- CPF have assisted M/s. AQA International, a agency who are into HACCP and ISO certification services to organize a workshop on awareness on HACCP among food industry in Bangalore.
